Michelle Kraft - The Krafty Librarian

Michelle Kraft is the Senior Medical Librarian at the Cleveland Clinic Alumni Library.  She is the author of "The Krafty Librarian," a blog for medical librarians.  She has authored several papers on Web 2.0 technologies and medical libraries.  She has served as a co-presenter on MLA´s Emerging Technologies webcasts and was a Top Technical Trends panelist at the MLA 2008 Annual Meeting.  Previously, she was a hospital librarian at South Pointe Hospital, an osteopathic community hospital in Cleveland metropolitan area, where she coordinated and supervised the library´s transition into the digital world.

Brian Gray is the Head of Reference and Engineering Librarian at the Kelvin Smith Library, Case Western Reserve University.  He is an adjunct for Kent State University School of Library & Information Science where he teaches a core course on technology for librarians and a 2-day workshop that he designed on Web 2.0 technologies in libraries.  He is the volunteer web coordinator for the Library Leadership and Management Association (LLAMA) of ALA.  He is on the Board and the conference planning committee for the Academic Library Association of Ohio (ALAO).  In 2008, he was the first academic librarian to be awarded the Quantum Infostar Award from Thomson Scientific.  He has given dozens of presentations and workshops on Web 2.0 technologies and their infusion into the library profession.

Thomas J. Froehlich is a Professor at Kent State University and serves as chief architect and Program Director of the interdisciplinary Master of Science in Information Architecture and Knowledge Management program that started in the Fall, 2001.  His education includes a Ph.D. in Philosophy (Duquesne University), an M.S. in Information Science (University of Pittsburgh), M.A. in Philosophy (Pennsylvania State University), and B.A. in English Literature (St. Vincent College).  He teaches in the areas of information architecture, knowledge management, ethical concerns of information professionals, information science, online information systems, network and software resources, and user interface design.  In addition to national venues, he has taught workshops, seminars or classes, or made presentations in 23 countries from South America and Europe to the Far East.  His research and the majority of his publications focus on ethical issues in the information professions.  He has recently been asked to serve as Chair of the SLA Ethics Advisory Council.  Other research interests include the philosophical foundations of information science, with special focus on social epistemology and relevance criteria in information retrieval systems; and curriculum development in knowledge management, information architecture, and usability engineering.
