• The members of the executive board introduced themselves. Everyone is clear on the specific duties associated with his or her office.
  
  
• Activities for the school year were discussed.
  • Fall
    • Game Night – Date pending. Trent Roberts is chair and will buy prizes, most likely a gift card.
    • Social Night – Students and Faculty are invited to go to a restaurant (restaurant to be decided) on Friday, December 5, 2008, 5:30-9 pm.
    • Hot chocolate – To be placed in hallway in front of elevators, with donations cup; hot chocolate powder, hot water, marshmallows and disposable cups will be provided. On the table will be signs and flyers about ALSSO, to be provided by the publicity officers. First date: Monday, October 13, 2008, 4:30pm-9 pm. Trent and Kristina will be the committee members present. Second date: Wednesday, October 29, 2008, 4:30pm-9?? pm. Jenny and Linda will be the committee members present
    • Finals Week Food in Student Lounge – December 8-11. Those in charge of replenishing the food and drink are:
      • Monday: Lis
      • Tuesday: John
      • Wednesday: Linda
      • Thursday: Angela
      • Trent will buy the food and drink
    
    
  • Spring
    • Faculty-Student Bowling - to be discussed at a later date
    • T-Shirt Design Contest and Sale
      • Committee members will be chosen at a later date. Publicity is working on a strategy for sales. T-shirt design will be generally appealing to those in the profession outside of KSU. Possibility of sales at conferences and locations outside the library is being discussed.
    • Professional Event
      • Resumes and Interviewing skills seminar. Kristina is researching possibilities
  
  
• Updates on duties:
  • Webmaster is updating the website and Facebook profile. Links to and/or announcements about events and activities will be posted. Photographs of officers and events will be posted. John is going to obtain the password.
  • Publicity will post events to the listserv, create flyers and other types of announcements, and communicate with the Webmaster.
    • Every officer may make an announcement about ALSSO events before each class and pass out a small flyer
  • Professional Events officer will also post volunteer opportunities for students through the listserv.
  • Secretary will clean the student lounge weekly and will obtain funds for cleaning supplies.
  • Treasurer obtained the binder and will save all receipts for reimbursement from ALA at the end of the school year. ALSSO gets a cut of the vending machine monies.
    
    
• The next executive meeting will take place in the spring semester. Any further questions or ideas will be processed either through email or by individual meetings.
