The division's prime sectors are Graduate Studies, Sponsored Programs, Technology Transfer and Economic Development, and Compliance. Graduate Studies oversees all university graduate programs, coordinating recruitment, admission, and retention activities for all these programs. Sponsored Programs helped faculty and staff secure over $31 million in external funding this past year to support their research, instructional and public service projects. Sponsored Programs maintains responsibility for all activities related to the extramural funding. Technology Transfer and Economic Development facilitate commercial application of university-related research through patenting, licensing, promotion of start-up companies and outreach.

Major institutes operate under the aegis of RAGS, including the Liquid Crystal Institute, the Institute for the Study and Prevention of Violence and the publishing arm of Kent State University, University Press.

RAGS monitors compliance issues and laboratory safety issues, assuring the integrity and safety of university research. Please take the opportunity to visit us and learn more about RAGS services and how we can support your education, research and technology transfer priorities.
