The newly renovated 6,100 square foot space at the State Library of Ohio’s campus is located in the historic Jeffrey Mining Manufacturing Co. complex in Columbus' Italian Village. Facilities include state-of-the-art classrooms, conference and meeting areas, faculty and staff offices, and a computer laboratory.
In addition to the increased square footage, the facility will offer students free parking, a centralized location, and access to the State Library’s vast collection of resource materials. With three full-time faculty members, support and administrative staff, and more than 25 part-time adjunct instructors from all areas of professional librarianship, Kent State’s School of Library and Information Science degree program in Columbus provides access to an M.L.I.S. degree for students in the central region of Ohio. As the only American Library Association (ALA) accredited masters program in Ohio, library paraprofessionals and students new to the profession rely on Kent State University to provide a high quality, professional education.
The Columbus campus offers live classes with a diverse and highly qualified faculty for students wishing to earn their M.L.I.S. degree. Resident faculty includes Dr. Belinda Boon and Dr. Miriam Matteson.

The School of Library and Information Science at Kent State University announces the relocation of its Columbus program to the State Library of Ohio. Housed at Mount Hall on the Ohio State University campus since 1975, Kent State currently has over 150 students enrolled in the Masters in Library and Information Science (M.L.I.S.) degree program at the Columbus location. In the past ten years alone 590 students have graduated with an M.L.I.S. from Kent State at the Ohio State University site.
