Distributed Learning Classrooms Print

The first of the School's distributed learning classroom in Kent is located in Library 332. This room features an interactive videoconference system that allows classes and meetings to be delivered to multiple sites simultaneously. Using this room, instructors may use a computer, resources on the Internet, and a document camera to provide high-caliber educational content to student regardless of their physical location. The 12-12-12 Distance Learning program is made possible through the technology available in this facility. The seating capacity for this room is currently limited to 30 students.

 

 

In addition this facility houses the apparatus supporting the SLIS Mediasite Streaming System. This system is designed to simply record teaching sessions, whether local or broadcast for future play-back over the internet.  Best viewed with Internet Explorer or Safari with the Windows Media plugin, the catalog can be found at http://w-slis-stream.slis.kent.edu/MediaSite/Viewer/.  


 

The Reinberger Children's Library Center also contains a state-of-the-art videoconferencing system that can also be used to host classes and meetings.  The seating capacity for this room is currently limited to 24-28 students.
