Dr. Zhang and Dr. Salaba Book on FRBR Published Print

Congratulations to Dr. Yin Zhang & Dr. Athena Salaba for the publishing of their new book: Implementing FRBR in Libraries: Key Issues and Future Directions .

Functional Requirement for Bibliographic Records (FRBR) is a conceptual model, a framework, and a new user-focused perspective through which one can view the bibliographic universe at an abstract level. The model was introduced (1998) to address the challenges facing libraries and to respond to the changing environment driven by technological advances, economic pressures, and increasing user focus of information. This book is the first to address the theory and implementation of FRBR in a unified review and discussion supported by current literature, practice, and research. The book incorporates their own first-hand experience of FRBR research and implementation from an IMLS-funded research project.
