Library Careers Nights Scheduled for March 2009
SLIS is once again pleased to announce the annual Library Careers Nights for both the Kent and Columbus locations.
Kent Campus Event
The Kent State campus event will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 in the Kent Student Center Ballroom. A panel discussion of library professionals will be held in the Ballroom Balcony, third floor, from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM. This panel allows students and those interested in careers in the library and information science profession to hear suggestions on how to apply for jobs, what employers are looking for, and the areas most in demand. At 6:00 PM exhibits will be open until 7:30 PM for attendees to chat with professionals and to gain insights about different career opportunities.
Exhibitors will include representatives from public, school, industry, science, health, law and services areas of librarianship. Please check back closer to the event for an updated list of exhibitors.

Columbus Event
The Columbus event will be held on Monday, March 9, 2009 at the State Library of Ohio. A panel discussion will be held from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM in the Board Room, followed by exhibits from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM.

This is not a job fair. It is an informational opportunity for students, para-professionals, and anyone interested in the library and information science profession to learn more about the profession.
