Policy for Students Wishing to Enroll in 12-12-12 Courses Print

The School has established a policy with regards to enrolling in courses at 12-12-12 program locations.

The 12-12-12 Distance Degree Program is designed for students who are unable to come to Kent or Columbus for classes.  Consequently, 12-12-12 students at one of the external sites (e.g. Cincinnati, Franklin, Lorain [LCCC],) are ensured of a place in each of the eight courses which are offered over the two years of the 12-12-12 cycle at their location.  12-12-12 students are given first priority to enroll in classes at their specific external locations during the two-year cycle of classes.   Columbus and Kent students and students at other 12-12-12 sites or in a different two-year cycle at the same external location are permitted to enroll in classes offered at these external sites only on a space-available basis.

Only 12-12-12 students admitted to a specific site will be permitted to register for courses at that location.  Columbus, Kent, or 12-12-12 students who register for a class at an external site to which they were not admitted will be de-registered.  However, Columbus, Kent and other 12-12-12 students can put themselves on a waitlist for 12-12-12 classes approximately three weeks before the start of classes.  They will then be notified and registered as space becomes available.

To be a 12-12-12 student at a specific location, students must be admitted as a student at that specific site (per the Biographical Sketch form) and must register for classes at that site after being admitted.  Students admitted to the 12-12-12 program are expected to take both courses offered at their location in the first fall semester to ensure that they will have a spot in all subsequent classes offered at their location.  Columbus, Kent, and 12-12-12 students can request to be formally switched to another site, but this will be considered only on an individual basis as space permits.
