SLIS at Kent State University is the only American Library Association accredited Masters in Library and Information Science (M.L.I.S.) degree program in the state of Ohio. An M.L.I.S. degree is the basic requirement for professional employment in most libraries and information centers.

Library Careers Night is a fun and informative event which will introduce you to the many opportunities available to those with an MLIS degree!  col career night

Spring 2010 Graduation
Students who wish to graduate in Spring 2010 must submit their application to the College of Communication and Information on or before January 22nd.  Applications may be obtained from the CCI graduation website, or by contacting the SLIS office at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it   Applications received after the due date will incur a $200 late application fee.
